Description

Usually, the grapes of the Dornfelder varietal are ripe very early in the harvest and will be picked at the beginning of the harvest season. Unlike white wine, the juice of the red grapes is not getting squeezed immediately. First, the grapes are separated from stems as well as stalks and will be stored afterward for around 14 days. During this time, the grapes are mashed again and again to extract the color and tannins from the skin of the grapes.

This is essential for a terrific red wine. For the Mosel area and for our winery, typical red wines like our off-dry Dornfelder are fresh as well as elated and have great fruit. In terms of aging, it is not necessary to store our red wines for several years. We and our customers prefer a fresh red wine that can be enjoyed as soon as it is bottled. Our philosophy is to offer red wines for drinking and enjoyment, not just for storing in the cellar. Besides cheese and beef, you should try this Dornfelder with venison, lamb, pasta, pizza, and raclette. Cheers!

Echter Genuss

Wer einen leicht spritzigen Wein bevorzugt ist hier genau richtig. Üblicherweise werden Rotweine eher in der kälteren Jahreszeit getrunken, dieser hier eignet sich hervorragend auch für die bevorstehende Grill Saison. Sehr lecker.
